A constitution (for the united children of biweekly smallgroup)

In order for this constitution to be ratified: must be passed by a majority vote from ALL smallgroup children. If some of those eligible to vote are absent, the final decision must be delayed until all votes are collected.

Positions:

President
Vice president
congress-persons (or whatever the heck you wanna call them)

Additional positions can be created, as specified under “powers under president”

Qualifications for citizenship:

Must be human
Cannot be older that 20 years of age
Must have one or more parents in the small group

Qualifications:
Made up of 5 members, including president and vice president.

congress-persons elected by citizen vote:
Every citizen casts 2 votes for 2 different people.
1st place gets president, 2nd vice president, next 3 become congress-persons
Role:
All decisions of the congress are made via a majority vote unless the constitution specifies otherwise.
Legislative–Votes on and passes laws.
Judicial–(1) interprets law, (2) decides if law has been broken, and (3) determines punishment/retribution.
Any citizen may propose laws to be voted on by the congress.

Powers of president:
⠀⠀
Veto–after the congress votes in favor of some thing (let’s call it a bill), the president can veto (nope sauce). The bill then gets passed back to the congress. From here the bill can only be passed by a 4 out of 5 vote. Instead of vetoing, the president may instead choose to defer a decision to the parents.
Proposes leadership roles to be filled and nominees. congress must approve nominees.
(?) Emergency powers can be granted to the president for 20 minutes with a unanimous vote from the congress. Powers include: TBD
The president may not hold any additional positions (outside of president and congress-person). Extra powers must be approved by the senate.

The vp may not hold any additional positions (outside of vp and congress-person).
